Cudugnon Cave in El Nido

Cudugnon Cave in El Nido, Palawan

Sometimes, we can't appreciate the beauty of our detours until we've made multiple twists, turns and deviations in our set-out path. We need to give that detour enough time to form a story of its own, until our detours become our journeys.

Papaya Beach in El Nido

Papaya Beach in El Nido

Our last destination was chill time and wading at the beach, other group played volleyball and resting under the shades of the trees in Papaya Beach. But what we enjoyed most is drinking coconut water perfect to rinse our taste buds from salty water and whole day basking in the island.

Scenic Helicopter Island

Scenic Helicopter Island in El Nido, Palawan

It's called Helicopter Island because it's shaped like a helicopter. If you're up for a challenge, skip the motorized bangka and rent a kayak to go here instead. Be sure to bring your snorkeling gear!

Small Lagoon
Big Lagoon
Secret Lagoon
Simizu Island
7 Commandos Beach

The Big and Small Lagoon’s tranquil turquoise-green waters of its orchid-lined limestone walls, showcase a kaleidoscope of marine life. Scientists believe that these lagoons were actually caves which abound in these islands. The roofs of these caves must have collapsed millions of years ago, and these lagoons have emerged in their stead.

Swim through a hole in a cliff to find the Secret Lagoon or Hidden Beach. The entrance to the lagoon is really small and you have to crawl your way inside. Main activities here are snorkeling, picnic, and relaxing.

Simizu or Shimizu Island main attraction is the beautiful marine life just few meters from the shore, snorkeling and a nature perfect photo setup. Colorful fishes abound the waters of Shimizu Island, a great place for snorkeling.

The 7 Commandos Beach has long stretch of white sand and clear blue waters. A perfect place to end the day to watch the sunset.

El Nido Islands to Visit
Snake Island
Cudugnon Cave
Cathedral Cave
Inabuyutan Island
Pangulasian Island

This Tour is a very nice sight seeing tour with some snorkeling. In calm days the reef in front of Pangulasian is a very nice snorkel spot. Look out for Turtles and black tip sharks.

The island was called Snake Island not because it has snakes. It is because of a long sand bar that looks like a snake from afar and is clearly visible only when the tide is low. On both sides of the sand bar are shallow swimming areas. The opposing currents bring a myriad of interesting rocks, stones, bits of coral, and shells to both sides of the sand bridge. It connect two islands on both end.

Codugnon Cave, entrance to this sea cave is right on the shore a couple of steps to the left. To get in, you must crawl through a hole. The cave has beautiful limestone and marble walls, in various shades of brown, green, blue, white, and gray, and several light sources on the ceiling. The floor is sand, and the cave becomes filled with water during high tide.

Pangalusian Island, El Nido - It has one of the widest stretches of powdery white beaches in El Nido, which is very ideal for sun bathing, sunset viewing, and other beach activities. The waters fronting the beach are clusters of coral reefs that make this area a good snorkeling and diving site. A trail located in the middle of the island is a good place for birdwatching, especially during early mornings and late afternoons. The trail ends at the peak of the island and provides and an excellent 360-degree view of the Bacuit Bay and nearby islands.

Black Island

Black Island is a grey colored island that ahs all the trademarks of Busuanga, limestone cliffs.  The big cave with natural pool of green colored water inside.  We dipped into it and felt relieved by its soothing coolness. We explore the cave deep inside until lack of sunlight made us decide we had had enough and proceeded to the entrance, or shall I say, exit mouth of the still unnamed cave. Once outside, by the shore, one can notice a comical shape of two islands that seem talking to each other.
